How to overcome Procrastination with EFT Tapping?- My Experience
Procrastination is something I used to judge myself for, but I’ve come to understand it very differently now. It’s not laziness.
More often than not, it’s actually a stress response. When the nervous system feels overwhelmed or unsafe, it naturally pulls away from the task, even if that task is completely important and urgent.

Signs of procrastination
The common signs of procrastination that I often come across are:
- Delaying tasks you know you should be doing
- Feeling stuck or unable to start
- Constantly distracting yourself
- Waiting to feel “ready”
- Feeling guilty but still not taking action

If any of these sound familiar, you are not alone and you are definitely not lazy.
In most cases, I have seen that procrastination is driven by fear. It could be fear of failure, fear of success, fear of the unknown, or simply a deep rooted belief that you are not good enough.
There are studies as well that link procrastination to negative emotions.
The task itself is rarely the real problem. It is the emotion attached to it that makes starting feel so hard.

How I Work Through Procrastination
When I work with clients, I don’t focus on forcing productivity. I focus on understanding what is actually causing the resistance.

Through conversation, we identify the real reason behind the procrastination, what exactly feels uncomfortable or unsafe about taking action.
And what I have noticed is that most of the time, that feeling is not new. It is almost always connected to a past experience where the person felt the exact same way.
Even though the event is long over, it often leaves behind a belief like “I’m not good enough” or “It’s not safe to try.”
That belief stays active in the nervous system and quietly continues to influence behavior, sometimes for years.
So we go back to those specific memories and start neutralising them. As the emotional charge reduces, the belief begins to shift.

And when that happens, the resistance to taking action naturally starts to fade on its own.
There is no forcing, no pushing, no willpower battles. Once the nervous system no longer sees the task as a threat, taking action starts to feel easier and surprisingly natural.
And the best part? Most of the people I work with tell me they don’t go back to their old patterns.
They begin working with a sense of ease, without the constant stress, overwhelm, or procrastination that used to hold them back.
Studies have shows that even one hour of EFT Tapping can significantly reduce stress.
